Building a Call Centre
Based on a True Story
Sometimes you cannot choose the path that is lay before you. Quite a bit of philosophy was intended for that opening line but it creates a true picture of this story. You see, I want to live the dream in the field of IT. I want big budgets, super powered servers, a mad amount of CPU cores and of course, I demand 99.99% uptime of all my services, preferably 100%. This is no perfect world though, sometimes you have to use what you’ve got and abuse your limitations, and seriously I mean abuse! If you’re going into the field of IT these days, you may find the following story an all too familiar scene. This is how it began for me and in short it was quite a fun and interesting (afterwards of course) experience. This is my story of the adventures of d0tk0m in IT, ‘Building a Call Centre’.
