Asus Eee 901 Debian Ustream Flash Webcam Fix

Asus Eee 901 Debian: cannot open display: 0:0

I was trying to run my web browser (Iceweasel) on my netbook as root through the Konsole but came across the following:

Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 KeyError: error cannot open display: 0:0

Asus Eee 901 Wireless WEP with Debian Lenny

Gotta admit, finding the right syntax for doing this was an absolute bastard! But all the heartache is over now, so I scripted the shit out of it and then forgot all about. So here’s a point of reference just in case I need to come back to it as I don’t use WEP anymore because it’s simply too hackable.
Rather than just using the usual command ‘iwconfig‘ you have to use it in combination with ‘iwpriv‘, otherwise nothing will work. For more info on the ‘iwpriv‘ command use ‘man iwpriv‘.
