Update after update and I never even thought twice about it but hey! Cleaning up the old kernels is easy but I would recommend manually editing the grub menu.lst rather than allow the removal process to do it ;) .

VMware Increase Virtual Disk Size Failure Kubuntu 9.10

An annoying issue but it is easily resolved. When attempting to increase the Virtual disk size I was getting the following error:

Failed to expand the disk '/var/lib/vmware/Virtual Machines/Image/Image.vmdk': The file already exists (0x270000000c).

Compile Chromium OS 0.4.22.8 with Kubuntu 9.10

This probably would have been simpler if I wasn’t up til 4am trying to finish it but I guess when your keen to get your hands on something new you just go for it! :? Anyway, this is the simplest way to get a compiled version of Chromium up and running. Chromium devs are releasing patches and updates almost every hour at the time of writing this so it’s hard to keep up, this way at least you have a stable version to run and mess with. You can get the chromiumos-0.4.22.8 tarball from here.

Kubuntu 9.10 VMware 2.02-203138 x86_64 upgrade Fix

To be honest I thought most of these issues with the 2.6.31 would have been ironed out with the next upgrade to VMware but this is definitely not the case as it seems we still have to use the previous 2.01 patch to get it up and running. You can get the patch from here
