I decided to take it upon myself to setup a Squid Cache Proxy using the latest Ubuntu distro (10.04, at time of writing). If you are following this then you can be up and running in under 5 minutes 8-) . Asus Eee 901 Debian: cannot open display: 0:0

I was trying to run my web browser (Iceweasel) on my netbook as root through the Konsole but came across the following:

Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 KeyError: error cannot open display: 0:0

No need to keep loading up ‘System Monitor’ to terminate a stalled application / process when you can just as easily, if not quicker, terminate it from the konsole :) .

Kubuntu: Cleaning up the old kernels

Update after update and I never even thought twice about it but hey! Cleaning up the old kernels is easy but I would recommend manually editing the grub menu.lst rather than allow the removal process to do it ;) .
